December 9, 2007

San Diego's AS I LAY DYING has received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for "Nothing Left", the first single from the band's newest release, "An Ocean Between Us".

"I thought someone was pulling my leg when I first heard that we're nominated for a Grammy this year," says vocalist Tim Lambesis. "I'm completely honored! Who would have thought you could play metal and still make your parents this proud? Now I'll have to go out and rent a tux to wear for the third time in my life. I knew I should have just bought one the first time…"

"Best Metal Performance" Grammy nominees:

AS I LAY DYING - "Nothing Left"

The 50th annual Grammy Awards will be held at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday, February 10, 2007.

AS I LAY DYING will not wait long after the New Year to get back on the road. The January 2008 leg of their acclaimed "An Ocean Between Us" tour will feature a fresh crop of opening bands — AUGUST BURNS RED, EVERGREEN TERRACE and STILL REMAINS — and will continue to bring their genuine brand of fist-pumping metal to a theatre near you. 1 in Omaha, NE.

A video was recently completed for the band’s new track "The Sound Of Truth". The clip, a sequel to the story in the video for "Nothing Left", was filmed in Los Angeles while the band was between tours. It was directed by Brian Thompson and is slated to debut in January on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball".

Guitarist Phil Sgrosso says of the upcoming trek: "2008 is going to be a very busy year for us and there's no better way to start it off than with a U.S. headline tour. We'll be hitting a lot of cities that we haven't played for a while and we're bringing along our friends in AUGUST BURNS RED, EVERGREEN TERRACE, and STILL REMAINS. This is going to be an exciting tour for us and all of our fans, I can't wait."
